MALDA Nov. 8: Members of State Women Commission, led by former MP Mrs Malini Bhattacharya, will visit Malda on 11 November to inquire into the death of Ritu Taneja (26), who was allegedly burnt alive in a red light area at English Bazaar town in August this year. The SWC members have informed about their visit to the activists of Association for Protection of Democratic Rights (APDR), Malda branch. The district secretary of APDR Malda, Mr Prabir Jha, said: “The SWC members would investigate the anomalies in the red light area pointed out by us. Apart from meeting the district administration officials, they will also meet the social activists to take stock of the situation here.” n SNS
