MALDA, Jan. 15: The recent clash between lawyers and clerical staff of the Malda court has taken a serious turn.While members of the Malda Bar Association have decided to “cease work” and stage demonstration in front of the office of the district judge here tomorrow, the Malda court employees, backed by the CPI-M-affiliated Co-ordination Committee, are planning to take out a rally in the town on the same day to protest against the “high-handedness” of the lawyers.It may be recalled that on 12 January, the Malda court premises turned into a battlefield after a group of lawyers clashed with the employees of the court over the issue of handing over of the certified copies of court cases. A lawyer was also injured in the scuffle. n SNS
