Delhi girls rescued
MALDA, Oct. 20:
English Bazaar police rescued two minor girls of New Delhi from a bus at Malda town this evening, the Malda SP, Mr DK Mondal, said. The two youths accompanying the girls from Kushmandi in South Dinajpur, however, managed to escape. Mr Mondal said acting on a tip-off, they intercepted the bus and rescued the two girls. "Efforts are on to nab the two youths who had been accompanying the girls," Mr Mondal, said, adding that they would bring the matter to the notice of Delhi police. n SNS


Infiltrators held
MALDA, Oct. 20:
Two persons ~ Md Hussain (18), a Pakistani national and Md Sirajul Islam (19), a Bangladeshi national ~ were arrested yesterday when they were illegally trying to enter the country through the India-Bangladesh border at Hilli in South Dinajpur, police said today. The police, however, ruled out the possibility of the duo’s connection with any militant outfit. “They were probably trying to enter the country in search of job,” the Malda SP, Mr DK Mondal, said. n SNS
