Camp held in Malda to eradicate malnutrition

MALDA, Feb. 19: The Malda district administration today organised a health camp in Kaliachak II block to eradicate the problem of malnourishment. Doctors examined hundreds of women and their babies during the camp. Nearly 300 persons are suffering from malnutrition in Kaliachak II block. The ICDS workers and Malda SDO Ms Arunima De took special initiative to organise today’s camp for such patients. Ms De interacted with the patients to know their plight.“We have issued health nutrition cards to these projects. Women have been suggested to attend the next malnourishment eradication camp on 21 March along with their babies at the nearest health centres in the block,” she said. A large number of patients attended today’s camp and they were provided with meal and medicine, Ms De, said. The SDO also attended the sensitisation programme and interacted with the ICDS female workers, for the success of the project . The doctors examined the kids, besides making their parents aware about the disease. The ICDS workers have been requested to visit the houses of those suffering from the malnutrition problem and review the situation for the next camp, the SDO, Ms De, said.
