MALDA, Jan. 6: The Congress leader and Union minister for information and broadcasting, Mr Priya Ranjan Das Munshi, today criticised the role of the seven rebel councillors of the English Bazaar municipality for continuous non-cooperation with the Congress chairman of the civic body. Mr Das Munshi rebuked two of them, Ms Prativa Singha and Mr Shantanu Saha, when the duo met him today morning in Malda. It may be recalled that the Congress-led English Bazaar civic body succeeded in placing the revised budget on 31 December, with the support of 11 Left Front councillors, while the seven rebel ones stayed away from the meeting. Seven rebel councillors have not attended the board meeting for the past two months, expressing ‘no confidence’ against the civic body chief, Mr Narendranath Tiwari.“It is a shame that a congress-led board chairman had sought help from the CPI-M,” he said
