Idol found burried

 MALDA, Nov. 24: Malda police recovered Rs 1.88 lakh and an idol last night from the house of Danesh Ali at Bagmara village in Kaliachak police station.
Danesh Ali, 50, died after police raided his house yesterday morning. He died while trying to flee during the raid.
Police also arrested two persons ~ Samsul Alam and Masidur Sheikh ~ resident of Hooghly district. Police had picked up the two persons on a tip off from villagers from the house of Danesh on Saturday night.
Police got to know from the two persons that Danesh wanted to hand over an idol made of gold and took nearly Rs 2 lakh from them in advance.
Police finally found out the location where Danesh kept the idol and the money. Police said Danesh had been able to shift more than Rs 10,000 after the deal on Saturday night. According to senior police officer, Danesh had buried the Krishna idol including the money received from the two persons as advance before handing over the idol.
Police will examine the idol to know whether it was made of gold. It also informed its other quarters to find any theft case in connection with the idol recovered. n SNS
