MALDA, April 21: Seventy candidates from different parties have filed their nomination for 11 constituencies in Malda. Ten CPI-M candidates and one Forward Bloc candidate have filed nominations. Following a state-level alliance, the Trinamul Congress has fielded nine candidates and the BJP has fielded two from Habibpur and Harishchandrapur constituencies.The Bahujan Samaj Party has nominated 10 candidates here, besides the Manikchak Assembly segment. There is one Muslim League candidate contesting from Sujapur. The SUCI and the CPI-ML (Liberation) has nominated three candidates each in the district. These 70 candidates also include many Independent candidates who have filed their nominations but they will contest on behalf of the KPP and Indira Rajiv Mancha, which is a faction of the Malda Congress.
