Malda gears up to receive Central forces


MALDA, April 10: To conduct free and fair polls, more than 80 companies of Central paramilitary forces, presently engaged in Assam, will be deployed in Maoist-dominated Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapore districts, officials said today. On 12 March, the Central paramilitary forces will reach here from Assam and the next day, they will leave for South Bengal. Malda district election officials have been instructed to make proper arrangement for their night stay.The Malda SDO said they have made arrangements for their stay.On 4 and 5 May, the CPMF will return here from Murshidabad as North Bengal goes to polls on 8 May. Today, Malda district election officials introduced 11 returning officers, who will be on duty in Malda, to the media. The officials said that on 19 and 20 April, 13 observers, including expendiutre observers, will reach Malda. SNS
