MALDA, April 22: The Malda CPI-M has finally decided to nominate the son of a rebel Congress member of Malda Zilla Parishad in panchayat polls following the resolution of the district secretariat. Though a group of CPI-M leadership had planned to nominate Mohammad Sahid, a senior congress leader but following the guideline of the state leadership the CPI-M has nominated Mr Ajmal Hossian, son of that rebel Congress leader, for ZP seat in Chanchal. The CPI-M has dropped Mrs Anjuman Ara Begum, who contested last Assembly and panchayat polls and she was also the CPI-M candidate for Kharba by poll held recently. Mrs Mehrunnesha has replaced her. The CPIM has finally decided to pull out two candidates to adjust seats with the Socialists Party today. The CPI-M fielded two ZP candidates against the socialist party where leaders of SP adamantly fielded its candidates in various seats in Habibpur block areas. The CPIM pulled out its candidates when the SP had finally bent down before the CPI-M leaders. On the other hand, there has been no seat adjustments with the SUCI and the Trinamul Congress. Only in Gazole the Trinamul has finally agreed not to field its candidate for Zilla Parishad seat.
