Alert for CM visit in Malda

MALDA, 9 APRIL: The police in Malda are on high alert concerning chief minister Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee’s proposed visit here on 10 April. According to Malda SP Mr Bhuban Mandal, additional forces have been requisitioned from Murshidabad, North and South Dinajpur districts to enhance security cover. The police administration has beefed up security in the tribal dominated Habibpur areas, which had observed KPP and KLO movement in the past. The police area also keeping a touch to ensure nobody waves black flags at the chief minister. Mr Bhattacharjee will inaugurate a housing project. He will also inaugurate an Industrial Training Institute of the state technical education and training department at Habibpur on 11 April. He will meet the administrative officials tomorrow. Minority affairs minister, Mr Abdus Sattar, the secretary of minority affairs and madrassa education, Mr BP Gopalika and Mr Prathapran Datta, secretary, housing department would be present. SNS
