Mausam wants railway upgrade

MALDA, 15 APRIL: North Malda MP, Mrs Mausam Noor, today submitted a series of proposals and demands to the divisional railway manager in Katihar (Bihar) for the development of railway services in her constituency.
Mrs Noor demanded stoppage of Tebhaga Express, from Kolkata to Balurghat, at Gazole in Malda. The Left leaders and even the Congress and Chhatra Parishad leaders have been demanding its stoppage at Gazole since a long time.  
Mrs Noor has also demanded stoppage of three more trains in different places in North Malda parliamentary constituency. According to her proposals, Kanchenjangha express should stop at Harishchandrapur railway station. Railway authorities should stop Radhikapur express at Bhaluka and Kumedpur railway stations in Malda for the local residents who can board the train from their areas.
The MP pointed out that work at Samsi railway station declared as Adarsha Station by the railway minister in 2009-10 Budget, is yet to begin.
Gazole railway station was given the status of Adarsha Station in railway Budget 2010-11. Besides she demanded another station Harishchandrapur to be declared as Adarsha Station.
Mrs Noor also proposed to build an over bridge at level crossing, near Samsi Railway station, on NH 81. “A fly over is needed there to ease traffic congestion in the area”,she said.  
A sub way was demanded at Raghabpur between Kumedpur and Harishchandrapur in North Malda.
The North Malda MP has also demanded a new railway link between Chanchal, sub divisional headquarter, to Dalkhola in North Dinajpur and proposed DRM in Katihar to begin a survey.  
In her letter to DRM in Katihar, she proposed to set up PRS (passenger reservation system) Centre at Kumedpur and Malahar railway stations.
