MALDA, Sept. 27: Mr AH Khan Choudhury, who had defeated his CPI-M rival Mr Sailen Sarkar in the recently concluded LS by-poll in Malda, will be sworn in as an MP on 19 November, the birthday of the late Indira Gandhi.The Malda Congress leaders today said that the date for Mr Choudhury’s swearing-in had been fixed by the Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi.Meanwhile, the demand for a ministerial berth to the new Malda MP has been gaining momentum here. Congress leader and former MLA, Mr Mostaque Alam, said the demand for ministerial berth to Mr Choudhury was being considered by the Congress high command. Mr Alam, however, said there was no chance of the new Malda MP being appointed as a full cabinet minister.
