MALDA, Dec. 6: A group of local traders of Sujapur, a minority dominated area under the Kalaichak police station, has been united backed by a CPIM leader to resist activities of another group of ‘extortionists’ allegedly backed by the Congress. Since a few days sporadic clashes continue between the two groups at Sujapur area. Common people are apprehending more clashes between the two groups here and Sujapur may erupt again and turn into political clashes over the rights of areas until forthcoming panchayat election is over. Though police tired hard to nab some of the leaders of extortionists but failed because information of police raid was leaked out several times due to unknown reasons and criminals fled the spots.
