MALDA, Aug 3: Malda police found an improvised explosive device at Beharitola in Khejuria, close to Farakka Barrage, under Baishnabnagar police station.After serial blasts in Ahmedabad, Bangalore and bomb scare across the country including Kolkata, detection of the device triggered panic in the local areas which was fitted with a timer. The Malda S P said: The improvised explosive device is in safe place now. We have approached the bomb disposal squad who will defuse it after examination”. “Apparently the timer looks like a toy fitted to a crude bomb, ” he said.The bomb disposal squad will be coming from Siliguri to examine the device. The Malda S P, Mr. Satyajit Bandyopadhyay suspect that local mafias may have kept the device here, which is very close to Jharkhand. n SNS
