MALDA, Sept. 30: A Film festival is being held at Malda Women's College. Organised by the film club, the festival will be on for two days at the college premises.
Aniruddha Roy Choudhury's Anuranan was screened at its inaugural session. MWC principal Dr Chaitali Chattoraj, the officer in charge of Malda B Ed College Mr Shakti Patra, Dr Anuradha Kunda, teacher of Malda College, other teachers and hundreds of students were present. Making the event special, the history department of the MWC published a journal - Perspective Gauda past and present Vol-I edited by Mrs Manasi Chakrabory, a teacher of MWC. The MWC film club has planned to screen three other films like Ingmar Bergman's swedish film, Hour Of The Wolf, Taste of Cherry- directed by Abbas Kiarostami and Sarah Gavron's Brick Lane, adapted from Monica Ali's award winning novel.
The principal of MWC Dr Chattoraj said that students of this college had been planning to form a cine club for the last two years and their efforts have finally borne fruits. n SNS
