MALDA, Sept. 28: Incessant rains since yesterday have upset the people on the eve of Id and Durga Puja.
Heavy downpour since the past few days, added to the woes of both Hindus and Muslims as they were unable to buy new cloths for the upcoming festivities.
Shop owners, including the small traders trading on footpaths, who do good business during the festive season, were most affected by the inclement weather.
The organisers entrusted with the responsibility of making preperations preparing for Id have stopped working due to the continuous rains.
On the other hand, the artisans are also anxious as to how they would be able to complete making idols, work for which is stalled for the time being due to the weather condition.
Even construction of community Puja pandals is being affected particularly in the English Bazar town. n SNS
