Two students hurt after plaster dislodges from school roof

MALDA, 3 NOV.:
Two boys, both students of class II of a private kindergarten in Malda town, were injured today when a part of plaster fell off the roof on them where they were studying in a class room.
Injured students - Sourav Mandal and Tuhin Choudhury- were taken to the emergency of the district hospital immediately for treatment.
Though Tuhin’s injury was minor but Sourav was serious because of his head was injured badly.
Doctors had stitched the deep cut on Sourav’s head and he had been discharged from hospital this afternoon.
The school building located at Banshulitala in Malda town was dilapidated but it was reported that the authorities allegedly did not take care of it for the safety of the students.
One of the guardians, Mrs. Sunita Choudhury alleged that the school authorities did not even bother to inform them when the incident took place.
Guardians were later informed by the hospital authorities.
After the incident took place, the school authorities, without informing the matter to guardians of the injured boys, rushed to district hospital.
The director of the kindergarten, Mr. S Das, terming the incident as ‘ an accident’, finally disclosed that though they had planned to repair and shift classrooms but could not execute the plan. “It is a mistake from our end. We must be careful to avoid such incidents”, Mr. Das said.
