Statesman News Service
MALDA. July 9: The state parliamentary affairs minister, Mr Sailen Sarkar, today said that Malda has lots of resources for tourism but the government alone can’t provide basic infrastructure for tourism development. “Even it is not possible for government alone,” he said. Addressing an inauguration programme of a new resort, called “Mayabon”, on the outskirts of English Bazaar town, the minister said that private entrepreneurs can develop and help the government for boosting tourism in this district. “Joint venture between the government and private entrepreneurs is a must to develop Malda’s tourism,” Mr Sailen Sarkar said. Citing development of Mayabon, on way to Gour along NH-34 , he said :“It is an example for developing a place which attracts people for its atmosphere providing full security.”
