Bangla national killed

MALDA, March 26: A Bangladeshi national was killed in BSF firing at the Bangladesh border under Kaliachak police station today. In another incident an Indian citizen was injured and a Bangladeshi infiltrator was held at the border. At Mirik-Sultanpur village under Kaliachak police station the BSF exchanged fire with anti-socials. According to the Malda SP Mr Satyajit Bandyopadhayay, BSF jawans chased the Bangladeshi intruder and asked him to halt. “Instead of halting, the intruder fired at the BSF jawans. The intruder died in retaliatory fire from the BSF,” he added. In another incident, an Indian was shot in the leg by the BSF also under Kaliachak police station. “The man was punching holes in the barbed wire fencing, the SP informed. At Doulatnagar village, BSF chased two Bangladeshi youths and intercepted one of them while another managed to flee inside Bangladesh. n sns
