Bihar police rescue 18 child labourers


MALDA, March 23: Malda police have planned to hand over 18 children, who were rescued by the Bihar police from a train yesterday, to their parents in Harishchandrapur police station. These 18 children were on their way to Samastipur in Bihar in search of job from Malda district with the help of labourers’ contractors. Yesterday, Bihar governm-ent railway police intercepted 18 children, aged between 12 and 14 , from a train at Barauni railway station. The Malda GRP got the information and took them in their custody from Bihar police today. The English Bazaar police station today forwarded 18 children to the Malda court. The Malda court asked police to hand them over to their parents today. After interacting with the boys named Hasabur, Akmal, Jalal and Jahangir police came to know that they are residents of Sadlichak, Dhanipara, Raghabpur villagers under Harishchandrapur police station area in northern part of Malda district. n sns
