Man marries another girl as bride elopes

MALDA, March 10: Malin Mandal alias Munna, a vegetable vendor, did not have any idea that he would have to marry another girl within a few hours of his marriage to Dipali Mandal, a resident of Dashrath colony. The incident took place in Old Malda last night. Munna and Dipali’s marriage was solemnised in the presence of both the families and neighbours. At around 4.30 am, Dipali sneaked out of the room which was given to them to take rest, on the pretext of nature’s call but did not return. When the groom’s family found out the matter, one of the guests proposed marriage to the groom’s family with another girl Namita, daughter of a daily wage earner. It was later learnt that Dipali had a relationship with a local youth. n sns
