MALDA, Aug 20: Six suspected Maoist activists were arrested from Olandar village in Bamongola yesterday. They have been identified as Mainuddin, Mamun Choudhury, Hasimuddin Mondal, Mahidur Sarkar and Sirazul, police said today. A police official said that some papers indicating links with the Maoists were recovered from the possession of the six arrested persons yesterday. The Malda SP said that the persons arrested from Bamongola yesterday were Maoist activists, who were trying to form a base camp here. Police had arrested three suspected Maoist activists from the same Bamongola area on the charge of allegedly providing shelter to Maoist leaders here, few days ago. It was learnt that the six suspected Maoist activists arrested by police yesterday were holding a meeting at the house of one Sirazul Shiekh here. n SNS
