MALDA, Feb. 23: For the first time, the director of health has selected Malda district headquarters as the venue for a meeting to review the performance of the health department on 28 February with nine district officials
The director of health, Mrs Sanchita Baksi would interact with the district magistrates, sabhadhipatis and chief medical officer of health from six north Bengal districts and three districts from south Bengal ie. Murshidabad, Birbhum and Nadia. Besides routine health projects sponsored by the state and the Centre, post Bird Flu situation will be also reviewed in the meeting scheduled to be held in Malda on 28 February. The secretary of the health department, Dr S Ghosh will be visiting Malda on 27 February regarding pre-meet preparations.
The Malda CMOH, Dr Srikanta Roy said: “It is a routine meeting to evaluate the performance of health projects in this financial year." Dr Roy said that the secretary of the health department, Dr Ghosh would visit the district hospital on 27 February and interact with the health officials to review the performance of the on-going health projects in this district.
The district hospital authorities have started cleaning the district hospital premises from today and doctors, staff members have been alerted about their duties before the arrival of the top health officials on 27 and 28 February in Malda. n SNS
