MALDA, Feb 28: A day after Madhyamik candidates and their guardians roughed up invigilators, police today fired two rounds in the air to dissuade students and guardians from attacking invigilators again at a Madhayamik examination centre in Bangitola Higher Secondary School at Kaliachak II block in Malda. “The school premises turned into a war zone after continuing candidates (CC) and their relatives ransacked the school office and attacked police and teachers for not helping them in the Life Science paper,” the Malda DI of schools Mr Chinmay Sarkar said. Two teachers and a policeman were injured in the attacks. Four persons were arrested in connection with the violence. SNS
