MALDA, Jan. 10: At least 14 persons have been injured in post-poll violence at Sujapur since last night in clashes between the Congress and CPI-M activists. Sabina Bibi (30) was admitted to a hospital with a bullet injury to her chest. A class II student, Hedayetullah and Asiqua Khatun of class IX were also among the victims who were shot at. SNS

I am permanent resident of MALDA , formerly called English Bazaar, a foreign settlement dating from 1680 is known for its mangoes, silk and the museum which houses the archaeological finds at Gour and Pandua , over 203 miles ( 340 km) north of Kolkata , formerly known as Calcutta .
