BJP man has hopes fixed on Muslims

MALDA, April 10: The South Malda Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Mr Dipak Chowdhury, today claimed that he is set to bag votes from Muslims affiliated to the Congress, as many people have not seen their MP Mr AH Khan Choudhury for the last two years.

“I have spoken to hundreds of people in South Malda Parliamentary constituency and many of them disclosed that they are unhappy with their MP because he did not visit their village after the death of his brother ABA Ghani Khan Choudhury, the former Malda MP,” Mr Chowdhury said. The BJP candidate also claimed: “The people of South Malda parliamentary constituency do no accept the policy of the CPI-M and Congress of nominating Muslim candidates in elections, thus playing the ‘communal card’ in the Muslim dominated belt... These sentiments, mainly belonging to Hindu voters, will benefit me at voting time.” n SNS
