MALDA, April 21: The district election officials have asked the English Bazaar police to take necessary action against a group of Congress woekres who allegedly set up their party office at a private building without taking permission from the owner. A businessman by profession, Mr. Barun Saha yesterday lodged a complaint with Mr. Sridhar Ghosh, the district magistrate and returning officer for South Malda parliamentary constituency against a group of Congress party workers. According to him, Congress workers forcibly set up an ‘election campaigning office’ and broke the lock of his building located at Jhaljhalia in English Bazaar town. Pointing out violation of Model Code of Conduct, Mr. Saha urged the district magistrate to remove ‘unauthorized encroachment’ including flags and festoons displayed in his building illegally. SNS
