Student Spirit


MALDA, March 3: A pregnant Madhyamik examinee gave birth to a baby girl this morning at Milki health centre and appeared for her Geography exam at Nagharia Higher secondary School in English Bazaar today.

Sahina, a student of Milki High School, experienced labour pain around 3.30 am, and was admitted to Milki health centre. She had a normal delivery just after an hour. Suppressing her identity as a Madhyamik examinee, she managed to get a discharge certificate from the health centre authorities this morning and returned to her parents house. With the help of her relatives, she went to sit the exam. The school authorities made necessary arrangements for her in the ground floor. The school authorities also contacted the Malda sub divisional officer and centre in charge so that she can sit the exam from the hospital.

Meanwhile, another student of Pukuria High School, suffered labour pain last night and was admitted to a local hospital. But, she still appeared for the geography paper at Mahananda High School today. n SNS


Injured


MALDA, March 3: A police personnel was seriously injured when Madhyamik examinees attacked him at Laxmipur under Baishnabnagar centre this afternoon. The injured police was admitted to hospital.


Exams


MALDA, March. 3: Students’ unrest delayed madrassa board examination at Mangalbari in Old Malda block today. The police intervened to restore normalcy. n SNS
