In a recent meeting the district Left Front leaders decided to raise the issue of price hike of essential commodities including patrol and diesel demanding food security.
In Malda prices of essential commodities including the potato, sugar, rice, pulses, spices and other vegetables have risen beyond .
The LF leaders have also decided to appeal to the government to change the definition of BPL and revise the criteria of selecting people who will be provided with more facilities to the poor in rural and urban areas.
