Man kills pregnant wife

MALDA, 8 SEPT: Azad Sheikh, a migrant labourer, killed his pregnant wife Sajinur Bibi (32) in presence of three other children at Jadupur under English Bazaar police station here today. He allegedly killed his wife by a hammer when she protested against his decision to marry another woman.Sajinur Bibi died when her husband hit on her head by a hammer at dawn. After the incident Azad Sheikh had to surrender at the police station when the villagers gave him a chase since the morning after his three children informed neighbours of the incident. He had to flee and came to English Bazaar police station fearing attack. According to the villagers, Azad Sheikh used to beat up his wife frequently since the migrant labourer retuned home from Maharashtra a few days ago. Locals believe that he had an affair with another woman. SNS
