MALDA, Oct. 8: The police recovered two bodies from Harugram near Sujapur under Kaliachak police station today. The two persons - Ganesh Ghosh (23) and Bama Charan Ghosh (41) - residents of Ramkeli in English Bazaar police station were hacked to death by a group of people last night.
“Local people attacked a four-member group with sharp weapons and killed two of them. Two others managed to escape,” said the Malda SP Mr Satyajit Bandyopadhayay.
The police are yet to find out the reason behind the killings. Investigations are on to nab the suspected killers. Almost all male members of Harugram fled their homes during the police raid. The victims’ family members said that they had gone out last night to watch the puja pandals.
