Declaration of incomplete results instigates SFI to continue protest

MALDA, 11 DEC: The University of Gour Banga today published the results of Part -I examinations of B Sc and B Com. The university could not publish results of Part-I examinations of BA. Almost after five months the new university published part of its results today. The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) today staged an agitation in front of the office of the vice chancellor, demanding immediate publication of BA results. They had already declared to launch a protest agitation if results did not come out by 10 December. As of today, results are only partially out. True to their declaration, the SFI, today, announced that it will continue with its agitation till the authorities publish the BA results, which should have been declared on 10 December.A few days ago when the SFI leaders submitted their deputation to the vice-chancellor, Prof Gopa Datta, she ensured that they were trying hard to publish results on 10 December.The percentage of successful candidates is 61 per cent in B Sc and 50 percent in B Com. Results for BA will be published soon, the controller of examination Mr C Basu told the reporters. The district secretary of the SFI, Mr Joy Chakraborty said: “Agitation will continue until publication of the Part-I BA results.”Expressing unhappiness over the percentage of results Mr Chakraborty said: “We would start another agitation on this issue after contacting SFI units of other colleges in three districts."“We will demand that university authorities review or conduct scrutiny of answers scripts free of cost following the applications by the students," Mr Chakraborty said.
