MALDA, Dec 5: Members of CPI (ML) backed, All India Students’ Association (AISA) today staged an agitation in front of Sewchand Parameshwari Vidyamandir in Gazol to protest against the decision of school authorities to send home poor students who were not wearing socks.
The AISA leaders alleged that teachers of various classes from VI to XI prevented more than 50 students who did not use white socks, from entering their class room, in the past few days. The teachers were strictly monitoring students’ dress code and sending them back home for not wearing socks regularly. Today, a total of 80 students were allegedly ‘driven out’ of school, the agitated students claimed. n SNS
