MALDA, Dec. 11: The district election officials today overruled the complaint lodged by the CPI-M demanding cancellation of nomination papers of Miss Mousam Benazir Noor, the Congress candidate for Sujapur Assembly by-polls to be held on 27 December.
The CPI-M leaders today lodged a written complaint with the district election officials pointing out that Congress candidate wrote wrong voter's serial number of her own. The Congress candidate Miss Mousam Benazir Noor had written her part no. 40 and serial number 327 instead of 328. The CPI-M leaders claimed it was ‘mistake’ demanding cancellation of her nomination.
The election officials accepted her nomination terming it was ‘minor mistake’ because the Congress candidate wrote the serial number 327 based on the latest draft publication of voter list which would be finally published tentatively on 10 January 2009.According to fresh electoral roll in 2008 her serial no. was 328.
