RSS chief slams state over forceful acquisition

Statesman News Service
MALDA, Dec. 24: The RSS chief Mr K S Sudarshan today criticised the West Bengal government for acquiring land from small farmers “forcibly” for setting up big industries.

Addressing a rally of RSS workers of the six districts of north Bengal at English Bazaar town Mr Sudarshan said: “We need to develop small and cottage industries for the development of common people. But the CPI-M led West Bengal government is trying to bring big capital after forcibly acquiring land for conglomerates like the Tata group,” he said.

Mr Sudarshan was also critical of the country's education system and argued that since Independence no government was serious to develop the country's culture. Criticising the Centre's role in the current financial crisis he stressed on the need to develop rural economy in keeping with the country's resources.
